The New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (NJBPU) has granted an automatic six-month extension to those projects which had submitted a complete TI application in the Transition Incentive Program on/before the effective date of the Order—June 24, 2021.



Following this Order, eligible TI projects which meet the necessary criteria will receive a new expiration date of April 30, 2022. Below, you will find details of which projects are eligible for the six-month extension and which projects are not eligible.

TI Projects Eligible for Six-Month Extension

TI Projects which meet the criteria below are eligible for the six-month extension.



  • TI applications which were issued an acceptance letter on/before 6/24/2021.

  • SRP projects that were transferred to TI and are under the status ‘Accepted’.

  • Complete TI Applications that were submitted on/before 6/24/2021.

  • Program Year 1 Community Solar projects.

  • Subsection t applications submitted in TI on or before 6/24/2021 will receive an expiration date of the latter of either April 30, 2022, or the date set out in the Board Order granting the project’s conditional certification.

  • TI Applications that were submitted on or before 6/24/2021, that were deemed incomplete due to a minor deficiency had seven business days to complete the TI application packet. TI Applications that submitted the corrections to complete the TI Application packet within the required seven days are eligible for the six-month extension.



TI Projects NOT Eligible for Six-Month Extension

TI Projects outlined below are NOT eligible for the six-month extension.



  • New TI Applications that were submitted on/after 6/25/2021.

  • TI Applications submitted on/before 6/24/2021 that were deemed incomplete because of a major deficiency and were rejected as a result.

  • TI Applications submitted on/before 6/24/2021 that were deemed incomplete because of a minor deficiency, and did not submit the corrections to complete the TI Application packet within seven business days as required.

  • Subsection t projects which were submitted on/after 6/25/2021 will receive the twenty-four months set out in the associated Board Order granting the project’s conditional certification.

  • TI Applications under the status ‘Eligible for TI Program’ will not automatically receive a six-month extension. To be eligible for the extension, these projects must go into the TI application portal and select the project type to complete the transfer to the TI Program. Once the project type has been selected and the project status changed, the expiration date for the TI Application will be revised to April 30, 2022.
