We’ve spoken before about New York being one of the best solar states in the country, with great incentives and ambitious clean energy targets, but today we’re going to focus on a particular part of New York - Long Island. That iconic piece of land stretching out into the Atlantic has been one of YSG Solar’s most popular solar panel locations down through the years and with good reason. Like all New Yorkers, residents of Long Island have access to great incentives and rebates and are well-positioned to take advantage of the benefits of solar energy. So, if you’re a Long Island resident interested in going solar, we’ve got a few tips to make sure you pick the best solar installer for your project.
#1. Certifications
This one almost goes without saying… but let’s say it anyway just to be safe. Any reputable solar panel installer will be fully certified and accredited to carry out solar installations on Long Island. You’ll want to be sure that the installer you’re allowing up on your roof knows what they’re doing and will install the solar system according to state regulations. Given the long-lasting nature of solar panel installations, most Long Island solar installers will offer warranties upwards of twenty years. It’s unlikely that any company will offer less than this, but always be sure to check. In addition, there may be different warranties for different pieces of equipment involved in the installation, so do ask for details of manufacturer warranties as well.
#5. Financing Options
At the end of the day a solar panel installation is an investment, so you’ll want to make sure that everything makes sense financially.
