Both the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) and the New York Solar Energy Industries Association (NYSEIA) are seeking your support. SEIA and NYSEIA are eager to build bipartisan support for critical solar provisions, which would not only benefit the solar industry but contribute to the recovery and growth of the U.S. economy moving forward.
In a recent newsletter to members, NYSEIA detailed the impact of COVID-19 on the solar industry, as well as the importance of rebuilding with renewable energy at the forefront.
As you may have heard, the House Ways & Means Committee recently introduced The Growing Renewable Energy and Efficiency Now (GREEN) Act. This comes as part of a broader $1.5 trillion infrastructure package. Notably, in terms of solar and renewable energy, the current iteration of the bill would extend deadlines for the solar Investment Tax Credit (ITC), while also providing a direct payment option in lieu of the ITC.
The inclusion of this vital solar ITC policy is largely down to the fantastic work of SEIA in recent weeks. As SEIA and NYSEIA continue to campaign in favor of these solar policies, it’s important that we all show our support and get behind them.
Specifically, SEIA and NYSEIA are asking for supporters to sign this letter. The letter urges Congress to include key solar policies as part of the wider economic relief package intended to combat the negative impact of COVID-19.
Additionally, active social media support is important for a campaign like this. NYSEIA has offered the following sample posts that you can adapt and share to show your support.
