The University of Pittsburgh is embracing solar power in a big way. The University has struck an agreement with the Gaucho Solar Project for the supply of clean, renewable energy for the next twenty years. This agreement will supply enough energy to the University to account for roughly 13% of the electricity on campus.
The solar farm in question (the Gaucho Solar Project) is set to be up and running by 2022 and will be located close to Pittsburgh International Airport. For a full news report on this new solar farm, you can view the video from CBS Pittsburgh at this link.
