NYSERDA Makes Changes to VDER
June 22, 2020

The New York Department of Public Service issued an Order Regarding Community Credit and Community Adder Allocations on March 17, 2020. The Order, which is available to read in full at this link, outlined a number of new specifics with regards to Community Credit and the Community Adder.

Those new details outlined in the Order came into effect on May 1, 2020 and are primarily concerned with Community Credit/Community Adder allocations. Perhaps most notably, National Grid, NYSEG, and RG&E have opened a second Community Credit Tranche at a rate of at $0.02/kWh

Solar Panels, Solar Power, YSG Solar

This second tranche is limited in size, and based upon the size of cancelled CDG projects from the MTC and CC tranches since the Phase Two Value Stack Order issued on April 18, 2019.

For Community Credit Tranche 2, which opened on May 1, 2020, National Grid, NYSEG, and RG&E are allocating capacity on a first-come-first-served basis. They started allocations with waitlist projects which had previously made the required qualifying payment.
